Play for Peace
Peace Drums Project facilitates classes and performances for young children with steel drums to have positive experiences and build community, regardless of religious, cultural, and social differences.
Our
mission
We are here to bring young people together through facilitated group learning and performance in steel bands and drumlines to have positive experiences and build community, regardless of religious, cultural, and social differences.
We believe that by giving the opportunity to children to connect, we can solve a lot of future issues. We know children don’t care about their differences. They just want to play. So let’s play music!
PAST EVENTS
A day of music with the Western Galilei Orchestra
On the 29th of December, the children of Peace Drums Project and the Western Galilei Orchestra came together to connect and to play music for the peace we aspire to see. The day commenced with a delightful breakfast, where everyone got to know each other.
German friends visiting in Ibillin, April 2023
The students of the Peace Drums Project embarked on their international trip to Herne, Germany, marking the second part of the student exchange. It’s our favorite time of the year, and for some of the children, it was their first time visiting a place outside of their country. In Herne, we participated in the larger youth music festival called Crossing Borders, featuring Israeli, German, and Polish music students.
Concert Rodeph Shalom
We did several concerts in the Philadelphia and none in a more beautiful setting than Congregation Rodeph Shalom. The students were thrilled to perform in front of 400 people.

Music as a universal language
So what is it about creating music together, that is so special? Most of us have felt it before. It’s either when we are making music with others or we’re listening to someone else playing when suddenly… We’re feeling the magic of it.
